Trenton Parks and Recreation recently updated the department’s 5-year Master Plan. This important document serves as a guide for the department to use when making decisions about future program and facility planning.
The plan was developed under the guidelines set for by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for the development of Community Park, Recreation, Open Space and Greenways Plans.
TRAIL TOWN MASTER PLAN
There has been a lot of excitement brewing when it comes to trails in the downriver area in recent years. The Trenton Parks and Recreation Department, along with the Healthy Trenton Coalition, has been ramping up its efforts to jump on board the trail movement and has made it a high priority.
Now that our Trail Connector along W. Jefferson is complete with an official dedication taking place in June, the next question to tackle is "how to capitalize on the trail network for community and economic development?" The answer - Trenton’s Trail Town Initiative. Check out our Trail Town Master Plan. If you are interested in learning more about it or becoming a member of the advisory committee, please contact Joann Gonyea, Director at 734-675-7300.
